Characteristics:
Dark green hexagonal crystal or amorphous olive-green powder with metallic sheen.
Chemical Formula: Cr₂O₃ Molecular weight: 151.99.
Specific gravity: 5.21g/cm³ Mons' hardness: 8.5-9
Melting point: 2226±25℃
Insoluble in water or acid. Soluble in hot alkali metal bromate solution.
Extremely stable against light, air, high temperature and corrosive gases.
High covering power.
Application:
Chromium Oxide Green is mainly used in four field: Metallurgy; Refractory
matter; Pigment (Ceramic, Paint etc.); Grinding materials. Also can be used in
the new field of surface melt blowing of the metal and ceramic; producing
chromium compound (carbon, nitrogen etc.)
